Hi, I'm Emily Plank!

You may have discovered me after seeing one of my hand-painted wedding dresses on social media! No matter what brought you, I'm so glad you're here. Believe it or not, I do a lot more than paint dresses.

I'm a watercolor and acrylic paint artist based in Lakeland, Florida, and I paint everything I can get my hands on (oh and I sometimes model my creations in community fashion shows!)

I started my business over 10 years ago mainly as a photographer and eventually over the years have been returning to my first love…my paintbrush!

My artwork, like my photography, reflects joy and a love of vivid color, whether it’s a pet portrait, a landscape commission or a painted dress.

Want to work together? I'd love to hear from you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Curious about something?

Yes, sort of…you should join my mailing list so you are in the know first! The plan is to be seasonal with my hand-painted collections such as spring for Easter Eggs, late summer for Fall Pumpkins and fall for my hand painted Ornaments.

Yes! Please email your project information and budget to hello@emily-plank.com to start a conversation about a possible collaboration.

I do offer personal commissions (wedding work, hand-painted items, portraiture) at this time, there are seasons in which I have to close down my commission list. Planning ahead for Christmas Gifts is something to consider as it can be a long wait period for a commission, up to 8 weeks or longer.  Please email me to start the process hello@emily-plank.com

Because I order all of our prints in bulk quantities from a small printing company, we are somewhat limited in the variety/sizes of prints that we are able to offer for sale. What we have in stock currently is limited to what you see listed in our online shop. We do add new print styles and sizes throughout the year, so there is always a chance that what you’re looking for will show up in the future! Sign up for our email list to be notified of new print releases.

Due to the current size of our company, we are only able to take on a limited number of wholesale partners at this time, but we would love to hear more about your store/wholesale needs. Please email your store name, address, and products(s) of interest to hello@emily-plank.com

Due to the time and labor it takes to hand-paint individual items (such as eggs, candles, ornaments, and other seasonal items), we are unable to provide a wholesale option for anything hand-painted.

Since most of our orders are filled by a third party, we are unable to change orders once they have been placed. If you have entered the incorrect shipping address for your order, please email us at hello@emily-plank.com and I will assist you. Please know I am a one man show as of right now.

Because a third party fills our orders, we are unable to include a gift message or gift wrapping.

Instagram verses Realty….my studio is me on my couch in my living room while I binge watch my shows.

Painting a brides bouquet as a present commissioned by her husband for Valentines Day! He heard her say that she wanted a painting by me of her bouquet pretty soon after their wedding and he remembered! How sweet is that?

It was an incredible honor to hand-paint these cleats for @pete_af for yesterday’s Rays Up for Turner Syndrome Foundation game. 🦋

Whenever I paint, whether it’s a dress or a pair of shoes, butterflies often find their way into the design to remember a loved one. The butterfly is the symbol for Turner Syndrome, and it holds even deeper meaning here: Pete and Lydia’s daughter, Ellis, whom they lost to TS, shares her name with a type of butterfly.

When Lydia (@lyd_mf29) reached out and asked me to add a special touch to Pete’s cleats, I was truly honored.

The Turner Syndrome Foundation works to advance research and education to improve awareness and care for those affected by TS. Pete and Lydia are raising funds for @turnersyndromefoundation through a live auction from now until June 21st and you can visits raysbaseball.com/auction to see the list of items available.
Bid on the opportunity to have artist Emily Plank custom paint a pair of your shoes! Auction winner will receive instructions to ship their choice of shoes to Emily Plank for custom painting. Net proceeds from this auction item benefit the Turner Syndrome Foundation. Pete Fairbanks and his wife, Lydia, are raising funds for the Turner Syndrome Foundation in memory of their daughter, Ellis. The mission of the Turner Syndrome Foundation (TSF) is to support research initiatives and facilitate education programs that increase professional awareness and enhance medical care of those affected by Turner syndrome. Winner will be contacted directly via email following the auction’s conclusion. All sales are final - no refunds, returns or exchanges.
I love it when clients send me wedding photos! I'm obsessed with how these boots turned out and how they match with the vibe of the wedding! I only have the mood board of the bride to go off of, she sent me the inspiration for her flowers and then photos of the grooms suit and bridesmaids dresses.
Who else has a problem with letting a good box go?

I have loved seeing people’s lists I had to add mine…most are cheeky but let me know if you want me to explain my stance on any of these!

Did I almost call my mom crying? Yes.

But I got it done and now I’ve ordered even more fabric to work with! I really need to take some sewing lessons so if you all have any recommendations let me know!

Hope you all had fun learning with me…. I’m just flabbergasted.
This is actually a game changer for my watercolor art I typically will sketch out my subject before I begin painting in pencil. Then when I scan it for digital use I sometimes spend hours removing pencil markings.

Creating this piece to mark the end of the Junior League Year and the end of your bestie @kd_fitz being President was a really special project to work on!

We turned the pattern into a mug but I have a few things up my sleeve as to what else we could with it but for now the blue and red version are up on my website and a portion of the sales will go to @jlglakeland

Something that I learned I could do this month…
I could have custom fabric made and @shopburu would make my derby dreams come true!

This moment has really been about 4 years in the making… I was first introduced to the brand by @bellaarango when she had a pop up @southernswanbridal fast forward to a little over three years ago when I went to @thesouthernc - Morgan the founder of Buru was a speaker at this conference and the importance of collaboration was the main theme I took away from that weekend!

Let’s just say I have some big plans and big dreams… No pun intended, but we are off to the races!

There’s nothing me and my glue gun can’t do….
It’s not all I made for the derby this year…..😘
Mother’s Day is in two weeks! Go check out all the artwork @scoutandtag, I just dropped these pieces off but they have so many wonderful pieces by local artists!
Every now and then I do find something for myself… I saw this little red purse on Poshmark and I just had to have it… I have no idea what I’m going to paint on it so send me your thoughts!

I’m more excited about the two pair of shoes that I get to paint with a very special motif to honor the memory of a very special little girl that will bring awareness and spark conversations. If I’m going learn about something, I’m gonna bring you all along with me and you’re gonna learn about it too. 🦋
